A QR code powered by GS1 can potentially serve several audiences. A consumer may scan it for product details, while a retailer or supply-chain partner may use the encoded information for identification, inventory or traceability.

Depending on how it is implemented, the connected information could include:

A sharp vector file is generally preferable when adding a QR code to label artwork. A low-resolution image may create rough or blurred edges that interfere with scanning.

Always test the code using multiple phones and scanning apps. Testing should be performed on the finished printed label after it has been applied to the actual container.

Gloss and Matte Surfaces Can Affect Scanning

The finish of a label can influence how light reflects from its surface.
